Woman Shares Beautiful Moment She Witnessed On NY Subway, Giving Hope To The World

Sometimes the world needs a reminder that life is precious. And that there are humans out there are aren’t jaded by whatever they’ve been through in life. What’s even more special about these humans are when their loving actions motivate others. It’s when they are so focused on their ʟɪꜰᴇ-sᴀᴠɪɴɢ mission that they don’t care how they are perceived. Granted, I have the feeling most people on the NY subway system aren’t worried about how they look to others. They are so busy going about their day, that it’s just white noise around them. But during a pandemic, the subways aren’t as busy some days.

So when a woman on a NY subway spotted a man bottle-feeding a neonatal kitten, she knew she was witnessing a precious moment.

And the best part for the rest of us? She captured the image on camera and shared it with the world.

The other day, Gillian Rogers was riding home on the New York City subway when a man sitting in the same train car caught her eye — and, in an instant, lifted her spirit.

Turns out, the man Rogers noticed wasn’t alone.

Resting in the stranger’s lap was a tiny kitten, wrapped in a towel.

“He was bottle-feeding her,” Rogers told The Dodo. “You could see the caring. My heart felt like it was going to explode to see someone with that much caring. He was so in the moment.”

After watching the adorable duo for a bit, she approached them and asked the man about how he’d met the kitty.

“We had a chat,” Rogers said. “He told me he’d found the kitten alone between two buildings.”

He didn’t want to leave the kitten there all alone and helpless, so he rescued her, taking it upon himself to take care of her.

“The kitten was looking up at him as he fed her,” Rogers said. “It was so heartwarming. I told him, ‘Thank you.

The man told her that he had discovered the kitten alone on the NY streets. It had been hiding between buildings and he knew he couldn’t just leave it there. I AM very curious how he knew it needed a bottle/formula and to be fed. In the world of rescue you may have those things in your home for an emergency.

But this gentleman likely was not carrying a nursing bottle and kitten milk replacer around in his backpack. Which means that he made the effort to go get the required supplies all for a tiny ʜᴏᴍᴇʟᴇss kitten he just found.

Rogers’ stop arrived soon after that, and she had to get off the train before she could find out his name. But even though they’ve parted as strangers, merely seeing the man’s loving nature had left Rogers overwhelmed.

For her, the scene was particularly ᴇᴍᴏᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ; as the creator of Pet Rescue Squad Inc., she devoted her life to aiding animals in need. She had no idea that the photos she posted would have such an impact.

What she didn’t expect was that her post would go viral, being shared more than 13 thousand times! People need this in their lives right now and the timing was purrfect. News outlets picked up on the story and the rest is history. Adorable,  ᴍʏsᴛᴇʀɪᴏᴜs history.

Because while Gillian approached the man to express her gratitude for what he was doing on the subway, she never got his name.

I posted a picture of a man bottle feeding a kitten a few days ago. It went viral, and as a result The Dodo did an article. I hope that this man sees how his act of kindness has resonated with millions of people. He was not sitting there taking selfie’s, he was completely rapt in the moment. What a special human being.

“He was bottle-feeding her,” Rogers told The Dodo. “You could see the caring. My heart felt like it was going to explode to see someone with that much caring. He was so in the moment.”

I hope that this inspires others to see the beauty all around us, even on the NY subways. And that you CAN take action to help sᴜꜰꜰᴇʀɪɴɢ and ʜᴏᴍᴇʟᴇss animals. People do NOT think it’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ, or that as a male doing it, it makes you less of a man.

Because I can guarantee that if we knew who this hero was, his dating calendar would be full of cat loving suitors! 😉
