“Hope For Paws” received a ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ call about a homeless 3-legged Chihuahua living in a shoebox for months. When the rescuers arrived at the scene, they weren’t ready for the depressing plight of the wee dog.
The Chihuahua barely had any strength to move, even when it rained. One of the rescuers touched her and found that she was completely soaked from a recent shower. A family had been feeding her all these months, but the Chihuahua seemed to have other medical issues which rendered her critically ill.
Her rescuers noticed that the poor animal was ᴍɪssɪɴɢ a paw. However the ᴡᴏᴜɴᴅ was perfectly healed and didn’t seem to cause her any ᴘᴀɪɴ, as she let the volunteers handle her without so much as a grumble. Volunteers gave the dog a primary assessment, a new collar and a brand new name, ‘Princess’.
Princess had always believed that no one would care for a sick and ᴅɪsᴀʙʟᴇᴅ dog like her. So when the rescuers stroked her with love and promised to protect her, the dog’s eyes lit up and she gratefully embraced the kind souls who came for her!
Rescuers quickly took Princess into their car and wrapped her up in a blanket to help her get warm and dry. They then rushed her off to the vet, where she was cleaned up and given a warm place to rest for the first time in months.
It turns out that Princess was very sick from severe anemia, and needed immediate attention and care. If her rescuers hadn’t found her when they did, she might not have made it.
Princess is feeling better now, but is still a very calm, subdued little dog. Her favorite thing is being held and cuddled by someone she feels close to, and she’s now looking for a forever family who can give her that.
We hope Princess finds a forever home where she’s loved and pampered for the rest of her days!
