Husky Stuck On Roof Kɪssᴇs The Firefighter Who Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇs Him

Dogs can get themselves into trouble just like people. Some might even find themselves in a situation that might seem funny at first but can have serious lasting consequences. This is exactly what happened to one pooch in Wells, Maine which somehow got stuck out on the roof.

The poor dog names Jasper made the ill-advised decision to climb out of an upstairs window and check out the roof. The Maine winds kicked up, and poor Jasper found himself unable to get down. Human hands and feet would have a tough time going backward from the roof to the window. For a dog’s paws, the task proved impossible. Thankfully, someone noticed Jasper’s plight and called 911.

The police dispatched the Wells Professional Firefighters association to handle the case, and when firefighters arrived they confirmed that yup; this dog was indeed stuck. The good news is, he didn’t seem the least bit upset about it!

“The call came in for a dog stuck on a roof. My first thought was on the roof of a car, but I didn’t exactly know what was going on,” said Captain Nawfel. “Myself and another firefighter who was there with me made the decision that we would ladder the building by ourselves and that we were going to put the dog inside.”

Although they’d brought a ladder truck, Captain Nawfel wound up just climbing a ladder up to the roof and helping the dog find his way back inside. However, the dog wasn’t quite ready to go back in the house, and while the fireman sat there lifting the window up for him, the pooch did one last lap of the roof, looking down on his adoring public.

The dog then pops over to the man to plant a long ᴋɪss on his face, before starting to settle down for a snuggle with the man. Unfortunately firefighters don’t have time to cuddle dogs on duty (ʟɪᴠᴇs to sᴀᴠᴇ and that) so he had to pat the dog and then gently bundle him back into the house.

The Wells Maine Police Department posted the video of the ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ to its Facebook page, where it quickly went viral. In two days, the video had gotten over 7,000 views.

“I had no idea that a little affection from the dog would blow up the way it has. It’s been surreal at best,” Nawfel said.
