Pitbull dogs often get an unfair rap as being vicious and ʙʟᴏᴏᴅᴛʜɪʀsᴛʏ canines who are always on the ʜᴜɴᴛ. But anyone who has ever spent time with a Pitbull knows that they’re actually quite gentle and sweet dogs. And they are very loyal as well.
There was one Pitbull in Missouri who proved his care and loyalty even though he was a stray. The Pitbull was credited with sᴀᴠɪɴɢ a toddler who had somehow managed to get out of his home. The small child was wandering around on his own when the dog then took the kid under his protection.
The toddler, Kh’amorion Taylor, spent his Thursday morning wandering the streets of a north St. Louis City neighborhood unsupervised by an adult. A neighbor, who wished to remain unnamed, was walking her dogs around 8 a.m. that day when she spotted the toddler walking with a dog of his own. The dog evidently followed the small boy as he roamed around his neighborhood.
“He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have the shoes on,” she told FOX 2 of Taylor.
This Good Samaritan immediately began knocking on doors up and down the street, looking for anybody who might recognize the Mɪssɪɴɢ boy. “Knocked on the doors, no answers; no one who did answer, they didn’t recognize the child,” she said. Throughout it all, the loyal dog refused to leave the lost toddler’s side.
Finally, Taylor’s dad recognized his son on a social media post and jumped into action. Thanks to the neighbor and self-proclaimed watchdog, Taylor and his dad were reunited.
The boy and the stray pit bull developed a bond in the short time they were together. While being reunited with his dad, Taylor kept saying the word “puppy,” as if he wanted the dog to come home with them.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. But the good news is that the St. Louis police might adopt him instead.
The lost child got back safely to his parents, while the stray dog who kept him company will soon have a family of his own. This story started out not so great, but it certainly ended well for everybody!
